Plant An erect woody annual, grandulr-tomentose, sweet-scented with tetragonal hispid stems grow up to 2.4 m tall in a single season. The stems are angled (square in cross section).
Leaves Leaves - pairs opposite, petiolate, densely hairy on lower and smooth with coarsely toothed margins, triangular in shape and 2-5 in (5.1-12.7 cm) long. Photo Gallery
Flower The flowersblue or purple, sessile, rounded, spiny clusters, 2-4 in (5.1-10.2 cm) across, that encircle the stems, long and curve downward.
Fruit/ seed Fruit of two dry ovoid nutlets, 2 aborted and seen as rudimentary white structure at base, rugose, glabrous, brown.
